"Black Elk Speaks" is a book that documents the life and visions of Nicholas Black Elk, a Lakota Sioux medicine man and holy man, as told to and interpreted by the American poet and writer John Neihardt. The book was first published in 1932 and has since become a classic work of Native American literature.
